The Public Link is a preparation action project which aims to build the capacity of public administrations to co-create public services by engaging and empowering their citizens through innovative and collaborative ways.
In particular, the project will focus on engagement and coordination of efforts between local governments, NGOs, research labs and companies to explore the application of disruptive technologies in public services provision. This includes the use of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning-based approaches that, twin with co-creation methodologies, will be run by public service providers from six different EU regions and tested with their citizens in online, virtual living labs on a transnational basis in fields like public transport, smart planning, health and informative services to visitors, users and / or costumers.
The ERNACT network will be cooperating with CTL Cantabria and Fomento San Sebastian (Spain), National University of Ireland - Galway, Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia (Finland) and University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering (Slovenia) until April 2023.
The project has commenced with a series of online workshops to test digital tools that can support the co-creation process. The first solution that partners have tested is the online communication platform Discord. “In this first part of the project we will test different digital tools that can support the co-creation of the services planned in the different regions. The idea is to allow partners to see and touch before selecting the set of solutions that will form the toolbox that will support them in the services co-creation”, says Jose Manuel San Emeterio, Programme Manager at ERNACT and The Public Link Project Leader.
