The ERNACT network announces the departure of Mr. Jorge Muyo from his position as Chairperson of ERNACT's Interregional Management Committee, concurrent with his stepping down as General Director of Innovation, Technology Development, and Industrial Entrepreneurship at the Cantabrian Government (Spain). After serving with distinction and contributing significantly to ERNACT’s and the region's technological and entrepreneurial advancements, Mr. Muyo steps down from his role and the ERNACT network wish to extend warmest regards and best wishes to him as he embarks on his next professional journey.
During his collaboration with ERNACT, Mr. Jorge Muyo has been involved in several European funded projects and he was elected Chairperson at the ERNACT Interregional Management Committee meeting on October 18, 2022, in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador (Canada).
On the 16th of August, ERNACT General Manager Colm Mc Colgan, Programme Manager Jose Manuel San Emeterio and Digital Communications Assistant Maixa Zabaleta, met in Santander (Spain) with Mr. Muyo to express gratitude on behalf of the ERNACT Network.
Colm Mc Colgan stated that “Jorge, in his relatively short period as Chairperson, had made a big impression with his skills in facilitation, in-depth knowledge of regional innovation ecosystems and experience of management at European level”.
Born in Palencia (1975), Mr Jorge Muyo has a degree in Management and Business Administration from the University of Wales College Newport, (UWCN) in the United Kingdom (1998). Specialist in Management of Technology and Industrial Innovation from the Complutense University of Madrid (2003), he is also a specialist in Technology Surveillance and Competitive Intelligence from the Pompeu Fabra University (2007).
Mr. Muyo has been a member of the Executive Committee of the European Community Projects Manager Association (ECPMA) and has taken up directorial roles in European projects. Additionally, he was the head of innovation and industry at CEOE-CEPYME and a technician at the Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria. His expertise was further recognized on an international scale when he was selected as a project evaluator for the European Commission in matters related to innovation, a role he undertook on three separate occasions. Furthermore, his extensive training in innovation policies, patents, and industrial property sets him apart in the industry.
