Partners will increase the capacity of social economy SME enterprises operating in energy-intensive industries to accelerate the transition to green production.
27 November 2023 - SEE BRIDGE  project
The SEE BRIDGE project, co-funded by the European Commission and in which the ERNACT network participates as a partner, celebrated its kick-off meeting on 14-15 November, hosted by project coordinator, the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporter’s Association (IMMIB).

The main objective of the SEE BRIDGE project is to provide support to increase the capacity of social economy small and medium-sized enterprises operating in energy-intensive industries and accelerate their transition to green and digital production. In particular, various training, consultancy and financial support tools will be offered in the project, which aims to help achieve the goals of the European Green Deal within the scope of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Thus, it is planned to increase information sharing regarding CBAM and other environmental regulations and to encourage cooperation and interaction between these enterprises.

Social economy refers to a business model in which businesses do not only aim to make profits but also focus on social and environmental goals. SE SMEs in the target audience of the project are businesses operating in energy-intensive sectors and face challenges related to green and digital transformation. CBAM will oblige importers in the EU to obtain carbon certificates corresponding to the carbon footprint of the products they import, which will impact energy-intensive industries.

During the project, which will last 24 months, effective activities will be carried out towards these goals:

  • Researching best practices in green and digital transformation
  • Mapping funding opportunities to support the green and digital transformation of SMEs
  • Preparation of guides to support SMEs
  • Information and consultancy meetings
  • Developing the capacities of SMEs and intermediary organizations
  • Analysis of the needs of SMEs and intermediary organizations
  • Learning activities for brokers
  • Skills management training and webinars
  • Coaching and mentoring services
  • Direct financial support service for SMEs through open call
  • Creating a partner pool focusing on green and digital transformation issues
  • Online and on-site transnational collaborative learning activities
  • Cross-sector collaboration and networking webinars
  • Development of a new sustainable business model for intermediary organizations supporting SMEs in green digital transformation
The partnership will contribute to sustainable growth by providing training, consultancy and financial support for businesses that want to play an active role in green and digital transformation and become SKDM compliant. If you want to move your business to a green and digital future, meet the SEE BRIDGE project and take one step forward in this transformation. Stay tuned to avoid missing opportunities, because we are ready to take a stronger step into the future together!
