The Capacity Building Programme covered key areas such as GIS, Data Integration, AI, VR, & IoT, equipping INNOCAP partners with tools to improve their services
22 October 2024 - INNOCAP  project
ERNACT led and Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme funded INNOCAP project partners have finished their Capacity Building Programme, which was designed to help them learn new skills and use disruptive technologies to create and implement innovative services.

The Capacity Building Programme focused on key areas like Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Integration, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and the Internet of Things (IoT), exposing INNOCAP project partners to a wide range of tools to improve their pilot services.

Training Focus
The program started by identifying the specific needs of each partner, ensuring the training addressed the most important areas. Workshops and online sessions provided a hands-on learning experience where partners explored how these new technologies could be applied to their pilots. This created a collaborative environment where ideas were shared, and practical solutions were developed.

Key Technologies Covered:
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS): Partners learned how to use GIS to create maps and analyse data, helping them make better decisions in their projects.
  • Data Integration: The sessions showed the importance of combining data from different sources to improve project outcomes.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI): AI tools, such as chatbots, were introduced to help streamline services and enhance user interaction.
  • Internet of Things (IoT): Training included how IoT can monitor things like environmental conditions and resources, with examples from Donegal County Council projects.
  • Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR): Although not the main focus, these technologies were discussed as tools to improve user experiences in certain projects.

Ongoing Improvement
Feedback from INNOCAP partners has been essential in shaping the training. Their input helped refine the sessions to better meet their needs, making sure the technology solutions were useful and practical for their projects. INNOCAP will continue supporting partners as they use these technologies, focusing on teamwork and helping them successfully implement their innovative ideas.

More updates to follow as INNOCAP partners continue working on their pilot services to promote disruptive, technology-driven solutions!
