Visit to the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels

ERNACT were part of a high-level delegation led by the Western Development Commission (WDC) to Leuven and Brussels last week, focused on unlocking EU opportunities for the West and North West of Ireland.

Alongside representatives from the Department of Rural and Community Development, Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, AIM Centre Sligo, Northern and Western Regional Assembly, Galway Culture Company, Mayo County Council, Sligo County Council, and Enterprise Ireland, we explored transformative initiatives to advance regional development.

Highlights included insightful sessions at the Irish College Leuven and engaging discussions with the European Commission, Committee of the Regions, and European Parliament. Key topics such as the European Green Deal, regional innovation, and EU programme management were central to our dialogue, reinforcing the region's position as a leader in progress and sustainability.
