The aim of the project is to:

Improve regional innovation and knowledge economy policies by transferring broadband and e-public services best practice between European regions and into local Regional Operational Programmes.

Specific objectives are to:
  • Transfer e-government and wireless broadband best practice knowledge between a group of European regions with different degrees of experience.
  • Develop an Action Plan to incorporate the transferred knowledge into the mainstream Structural Funds Programmes of ALL the regions participating in the project.
  • Disseminate information about the project to a large audience, including policy and decision makers at local, regional, Member State and EU level.

Overall responsibility for communications within the PIKE project
Integration of eGovernment and Wireless Broadband good practices into the Convergence and Regional Competitiveness and Employment policies of all the participating regions. In order to do so ALL 9 participating regions will develop an Action Plan to transfer the good practices into the mainstream Structural Funds programmes. Apart from project coordination and dissemination, PIKE's main activities will consist of Documenting and presenting the good practices, transferring the good practices  and ensuring implementation under the regional OPs (Local workshops, presentations to regional OP Monitoring Committees, regional Action Plan launches).
